A Power is a powerful individual or organization who strive to control inhabited space for their own agendas in Powerplay. Each power attempts to expand into systems, extracting resources from them in order to pay for continued expansion and protect systems already being exploited.

Powers are distinct entities compared to minor and major factions. Each Power can control a vast amount of systems that is aligned to both major and minor factions.

While many powers are aligned directly with major factions, it is not necessary to be a Power and some are independent entities. More importantly, even when a Power is aligned with a major faction this does not prevent them from scheming against its fellow allies within the same faction, ultimately every Power stands alone.
