An abrasion sample taken from the upper surface of a Thargoid Titan. This material is extremely strong and resistant to multiple types of damage.

Hardened Surface Fragments are a Manufactured Material introduced in Update 15.

Hardened Surface Fragments are commonly found on the hull of live Thargoid titans, although they may also be found on debris of destroyed titans.^{Needs Confirmation}
They can be acquired by targeting a section of 'coarse hull surface' and shooting it with an Abrasion Blaster, Mining Laser or other weapon. Shooting the 'coarse hull surface' targetable with an Abrasion Blaster will yield the most Hardened Surface Fragments (2-5 chunks x 3 materials per 'chunk'), whilst shooting it with another option will yield 1 'chunk'.
