— Newsletter #94

The Stinger-2, identified as Stinger when targeted, is an Achilles Corporation remote-control Skimmer commonly used for security operations at Settlements and Shipwrecks. It is assigned to patrol a specific area and defend against intruders. Unlike other Skimmers, the Stinger-2 is lightly armored and often not shielded, and attacks by homing in on an intruder's ship/vehicle and detonating itself in close proximity, making it comparable to a mobile mine.

Whilst the Stinger's suicide blast isn't particularly powerful, it does bypass the shields of SRVs. Their main purpose is thus attrition and harassment; they can gradually wear down any hostiles.
