样本采集无人机控制器（Research Limpet Controller）所控制下的无人机（后简称‘样本采集无人机’）可从Thargoid Interceptor、Thargoid Scout，以及在深空异象（Notable Stellar Phenomena）发现的外星有机体处采取组织样本。使用样本采集无人机一般都会让Thargoid进入敌对状态。

使用

在对锁定目标发射样本采集无人机后，会需要与目标保持2000米以内距离方可完成采集。若超出距离限制则会导致采集失败，并需要部署新的无人机。尽管在深空异象的采集目标不会移动而相对简单，但灵活的Thargoid Interceptor与Thargoid Scout可让作业极为困难。
